At the Antiques & Collectibles National Association (ACNA) and Antiques & Collectibles Insurance Group (ACIG), we want you to know that we respect your privacy. Therefore this policy is posted to make you aware of what information we collect and how it is used.

Reasons For Collecting Info:

ACNA and ACIG collects information for several purposes. The information could be used for one or more of the reasons listed.

  • Establishing a membership account in ACNA
  • Administering a membership account in ACNA
  • Determining Insurance Eligibility
  • Insurance policy Issuance
  • Administering an insurance policy
Web Collection Methods and Uses:

Membership Application - The online membership application does not collect any information that is stored. This form can only be completed on the computer and then printed.
Locator Request Entry Form - This form only asks for general information (example: Name, address, phone, email) and is used to enter a location in the public viewed locator. This is not secured and when posted to the locator becomes public record.
Show Listing Request Form - Asks for general information (example: name, address, phone, email) and is used to enter a show or event into an event calendar. Any information submitted will be unsecured and will become a public record.
Electronic Tracking Files - Your visit to the ACNA website is tracked using IP addresses for administration and analysis purposes only. IP addresses are not linked to any personal information.
Links - The ACNA website contains links to sites not belonging to us. Please take note that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of any site linked to the ACNA website. This privacy policy applies only to the information collected by ACNA and ACIG. We suggest when accessing a linked site to read the privacy policy or statement of that site before submitting any non public information.
Forums - The ACNA website may contain a forum for users. Please remember that any information that is posted, entered or disclosed within the forum is not secured and will be available for public viewing.

Hard Copy (Paper) Collection Methods and Uses:

Membership Application - Asks for general public information (such as names, addresses, phone numbers and email) as well as non public information (ex: payment information). This information is used to establish a membership account with ACNA to be eligible to receive member benefits.
Dealer Insurance Applications - These forms ask for general demographic information (ex: name, address, phone), business information (ex: types of inventory, building construction and location, etc.) as well as no public financial information. All information on these applications is used to determine if you and your business qualify for a dealer insurance program.
Collector Insurance Applications - Information collected includes public information (ex: names, addresses, phone numbers, etc.), Collection details (ex: types of property, details of inventory records, etc.), storage locations details (ex: construction, alarms, etc.) and non public financial information (ex: payment).These applications and the information on them are used to determine if you and your collection qualify for the collector insurance program.

Member Profile Form - A totally voluntary form that asks for general public information (ex: name, address, phone, etc.) as well as basic general business and/or collection questions (ex: business description, types of property in collection or inventory, etc.) Please be aware that if you chose to complete this form the information it contains may be reprinted in articles or print and will become public record.
Seminar and Convention Registrations - Form used to obtain public information (ex: Names, addresses, phone, etc.) and non public financial information (payment). These different forms are used to register you for attendance to outside functions, reserve vender space, or create sponsorship opportunities.

Additional Collection Methods and Uses:

In the process of conducting business it may be necessary to obtain information from 3rd party sources. We may use sources like but not limited to, real estate inspection services, claims history, driving records, etc. Any information collected is used for the purchase of insurance or administration of insurance policies.

Security:

We make every effort to protect your information as described below. However no security is perfect and some third parties may act in an illegal manor to obtain it.

  • Electronic, physical and procedural safeguards are maintained
  • Employees trained to ensure protection of your privacy
  • Information only shared as permitted, required by law or as described in this policy
Parties Who We May Share Information With:

We may, for example, share your information with:

  • Our underwriting companies, insurance companies, or your agent or broker
  • Insurance regulatory agencies
  • Anyone in the course of an investigation, defense or settlement of a claim
  • Insurance support organizations when used to detect or prevent fraud
  • Third parties who conduct professional, business or insurance services on our behalf
  • Our partner businesses that provide benefits to the membership roles (public information only)
Children's Policy:

We do not collect information from children with our knowledge. If we discover that we inadvertently have collected such information it will be destroyed.

Former Clients:

If your relationship with ACNA and/or ACIG has ended, rest assured that your information will remain secured as per this privacy policy or statement.

Information Requests:

You may make a request for a specific list of entities that we disclose your information to and/or the reasons for the disclosures, if you so wish. You may also request to see a copy of your information. If incorrect and/or incomplete, you may request that corrections and/or additions be made to the disputed records.
